Lunar Eclipse in Pisces ~ Learning to trust the currents of change
7th September PDT 11:08| EDT 14:08| BST 19:08
Eclipse season opens with a mystical plunge into the waters of Pisces. This lunar eclipse invites us to pause and sense what is coming to completion, what is shifting beneath the surface, both within and around us. How might we honour this potent turning point in the lunar cycle? Let us step softly into these waters and explore together…

In astrology and moonology, lunar eclipses are seen as culmination and release points, often when we are called to let go of what no longer serves us. Like a full moon they can illuminate where we need to start paying attention - but even more powerful than a full moon - they can signify profound transformations. They speak of endings that create space for beginnings, of doors closing so that new ones can open.
This month, a lunar eclipse in Pisces, the sign of the fish, asks us to swim deep within. Here we find the ebb and flow of connection to spiritual self, and the call to feel, to create, and to heal. These mystical inner seas are enhanced by the ancient ruler of Pisces, Jupiter, sitting comfortably on a watery throne in the sign of Cancer, exalted and adding scope for emotional intelligence and deep intuition to be present at this eclipse.
North node energy and Saturn is back…
The influence of the north node at this eclipse may also remind us of what we desire, so that any feeling of change may be accompanied by a hunger for something that is yet to materialise. Saturn is also now back in Pisces, adding gravitas to this eclipse season. This planetary move may find us returning to previous themes that Saturn underlined for us during his stay in Pisces (early March 2023 - late May 2025).
Tuning into these shifting tides can help steady us as the months unfolds…

Ways to harness Pisces lunar eclipse energy:
-
Ground yourself: Eclipse energy can sometimes leave us with an unsettled feeling. If this resonates, focus on whatever helps you to feel grounded. Take time to rest.
-
Channel your energy: If the energy feels high for you around the eclipse, you can also try to channel it into something creative or imaginative, this can help to alleviate tension and gives a nod to the spirit of Pisces.
-
Witness what’s reaching completion: What feels like it’s reached a natural ending point now? Appreciate what is culminating, ready for release.
-
Pay attention to dreams: Pisces energy encourages us to look inwards and pay attention to our internal world. Make a note of any dreams you have and journal about any themes that feel like they need exploration.
-
Reflect: Consider what piece of work Saturn may be asking you to finish up and how the eclipse energy may be part of the journey. (If you have your birth chart, pay attention to the house topics that Pisces rules).
Trusting the process
It’s helpful to take a breath at a lunar eclipse and find your centre. This is the first of two eclipses that we will journey through during September. Pay attention to what is coming up for you at this eclipse and what it brings to light - trust that by the end of the month we will be joining the dots between eclipses. In the meantime, here are some journal prompts for exploration:
Journal prompts for the Pisces Lunar Eclipse:
-
What is shifting within me now?
-
What quiet wisdom is my intuition whispering to me?
-
Am I being called to deepen my spiritual connection, or to tend to the practical rhythms of life?
-
What is my soul yearning for now? Which desires are calling my name?
Wishing you a grounded, insightful lunar eclipse.
